Shawn Drover, the drummer for Megadeth has abruptly quit the band just a few weeks ago. Megadeth being one of the pioneers in the industry has had a quite the record in retaining their band members. Now, apparently Drover left the band in good terms, but how true is it, I am not sure.
There are many questions as to how will this affect the band itself as over the years, I think that changing band members has altered their chemistry and their sound. And so far, Megadeth has had very skilled musicians to play in the band. Some notable past members such as Chris Poland, Nick Menza, Marty Friedman and so on. I have always been a fan of the band for a long time and I really do hope that this does not affect them in a negative way when a replacement comes by. The band has not made any official statement yet but hopefully we hear something soon enough.
